Rubik's Cube Solver (3x3x3) — 3D

Paint the 3D Rubik's Cube below to match your real 3x3x3: drag to rotate the view, pick a colour and click the stickers, then hit Solve!. The two-phase algorithm finds a short solution — typically around 20 moves. Unlike the smaller puzzles, this one is NOT guaranteed shortest: with 43 quintillion positions, no computer can verify optimality the way we do for the rest of the collection.

 

How to use this solver

  1. Orbit the 3D model and paint every sticker so it matches your puzzle. Reset paints a solved puzzle, Clear empties all stickers, Scramble loads a random position.
  2. Hit Solve!. Your colouring is validated first — impossible arrangements (wrong counts, mirrored or twisted corners) are rejected with the offending stickers highlighted.
  3. Watch the animation with Play, or step through with Back/Next while turning your real puzzle.

Move notation

A letter alone means a clockwise quarter turn, an apostrophe (') means counter-clockwise, and a 2 means a half turn. The animation always shows the exact turn, so you never have to decode notation.
